Per 1880 Census
taken in Spaldings, Prince Georges, Maryland:
Willett RIDGEWAY, age 66 (born 1814/not 1801) was Head of
Household and a Farmhand.
Mary A. RIDGEWAY, his wife, age 64
(born 1814 MD) was "Keeping House" Their parents, were
all born in Maryland.
John RIDGEWAY, their son, age 30 (born 1850 MD) resided with them as a Farm Hand
also. |
Note:
From a Ridgeway descendant regarding Mary A. Willet Ridgeway:
"I went over to St. Barnabas - the only headstone I could find in the
whole row of Ridgeways was Mary A. - the headstone is very faded, but I
made it out to be Mary A., Wife of Willett Ridgeway." Willett
Ridgeway (full name was George Washington Willett Ridgeway) and Mary Ann
Weaver were married in 1835 in Washington DC and became the parents of George Washington
Ridgeway (born 1850? Died January 15, 1938?; married Henrietta Anderson?). Here
is a new picture for this page: The tombstone of Mary A. Wife of
Willett Ridgeway, "Died Augt. 11, 1889 at age 88 years." Thanks to a
reader for sharing this photo! According to the 1880 Census,
Mary A. Willett Ridgeway lived just two houses from Masters and Ridgeways who

is believed that Eva died in February of 1980 in Prince George's County, MD

District 65, Spaulding, taken on May 3, 1910 as:

Ollie is an
iron worker, born in Maryland to Maryland-born parents. He is 39
years of age and he and Eva have been married 15 years. She has
been pregnant 7 times of which 5 children are still living. Eva
works in a grocery store as a retail worker. They live next door
to a William (a carpenter) and Goldie DeVaughn and their children,
Annie, David, and Beatrice.
